Low Budget Wedding

My finace are both divorced and are getting married in January (childhood friends since we were 12), but we need a low budget, since we are spending $2K on our honeymoon. Friends and family aren't financially stable enough to help. Only 25-50 will attend. I have the location landed. I need help in finding a minister and inexpensive catering for the reception. Thanks

Actually, I just decided to have everyone bring a plate. It will be a pitch in wedding. Thanks for the advice!

We might consider that for $100. Our date is set for Jan 5, 2008. I'll know more around October.

You might try Rev. Christopher Eppards. His email is ceppards@hotmail.com. We just met with him a couple weeks ago. Extremely nice man! He was very inexpensive(mainly donations). Our wedding is next Saturday. We were having a horrible time finding someone to marry us since we have both also been divorced. Either they just wouldn't do it at all, or it was going to cost $150-$300! His email is ceppards@hotmail.com. Good luck! And congrats!

For my own wedding, we're using MBP catering. She's really reasonable and will work around your budget. Where are you having the reception? Sometimes they will only allow certain caterers. Mills Catering is also pretty reasonable. I am a wedding officiant and would love to talk to you about the ceremony if you want. My rates are competetive with the area and start at $100.

my suggestion would be to cut out the food. my fiance and i are going low budget too. we found that this saves lots of money. you can still have cake and maybe some mints and nuts but the more food you have to more expensive it gets.

You can cut out food and it does save a TON! Just make sure it's not at a meal time. If it's a very short cake and punch reception in between meal time that would be fine though. Just realize that it will be short and people won't stay too long. It works great for some.
